Membership is a great way to get help training your pointing dog.
The club meets on Wednesday nights at the Horse & Hunt Club. Typically one or two fields are set up with launchers and pigeons. One field has purchased quail and is for shooting and retrieving.
Meetings are intended to be low-key and productive for you and your dog. The group is non-competitive and is about having fun.

The Southern Minnesota Pointer Club has been around for almost two decades. Members have enabled owners to train their pointing dogs for foot hunting, field trialing, or both.
The club has a positive atmosphere, where competition and ego is left behind and the focus is put solely on dog training. You may choose your level of involvment by simply attending weekly training sessions, or not.
Birds are simply the best training tool a handler can use to get a pup trained. The club has use of homing pidgeons & remote controlled bird launchers for this purpose.
If you have a dog that is already trained, but just want to do some brushing up before the season; you are welcome too.
Note the 2009 season for the club is over. We will begin training sessions again in April 2010.
The Horse & Hunt club graciously allows the club to use fields for dog training. When entering the parking lot, veer left towards the kennels. Look for a white trailer and a bunch of pointing dogs! In return, club members are expected to volunteer in the spring US Open Pheasant Championship.
